San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick made headlines, and plenty of sports talk fodder, over the weekend when he refused to stand for the national anthem. Kap refused to stand for the first two preseason games as well, but because he was in a Niners uniform, this time got noticed.
Kaepernick told NFL Media, “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.”
Kap has been widely criticized for his sheepish protest, but a man filled with tiger blood is behind his cause.
In an exclusive, hard-hitting “interview” with TMZ, Charlie Sheen, who played Carl Taylor in the garbage man comedy Men at Work, offered us his thoughts on the Kap situation.
With a few cocktails, and presumably a medley of pharmaceuticals, under his belt, Sheen said, “Colin Kaepernick? I get both sides of it.”
Perfect political answer. Is he running for mayor of StripperHeroineville?
Then, the “interviewer” asked if Sheen supports what Kap did.
OK, so he’s not seeking office. Yet.
